TUNZA INTERNATIONAL CHILDREN AND YOUTH CONFERENCE ON ENVIRONMENT 2011
The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) in collaboration with the Government of Indonesia organized the Tunza International Children & Youth Conference on the Environment , from 26th September to 1st October 2011. It brought together around 1400 children and youth from 152 countries, to discuss their role and inputs to the upcoming United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development ‘Rio+20’.
Under the slogan ‘Reshaping Our future through A Green Economy and Sustainable Lifestyle’. The conference also reviewed the contribution of youth to the International Year of Forests and how they can adopt more environment-friendly lifestyles. The conference themes are Rio + 20 (Green Economy) / Green Lifestyles, Forests, Sustainable Consumption and State of the Global Environment from the youth perspective.
The conference program was accompanied by Plenary Sessions, Workshops, Field Trips and Historical Bandung Declaration for RIO + 20. The Bandung Declaration can be found Here.
Founder President of Sano Sansar Nepal, Mr. Sagar Aryal, Participated in this Conference as a National Youth Delegate from Nepal.
