The World Youth Congress series was born in 1997 following the frustrations of the Rio+5 Earth Summit conference which highlighted the fact that, far from increasing as the original Rio 1992 Earth Summit had proposed, Overseas Development Aid had, in fact dropped by 17% since 1992.
6th World Youth Congress is announced to be held in Rio de Janerio from (April 12 – 22nd 2012) The Congress will bring together hundreds of young people (age 18-30) from around the world.
They will include young development activists, young media professionals, young educators, young artists, young entrepreneurs, young health professionals, disadvantaged young people, young athletes for development, virtual delegates, and young environmentalists.
